Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG)

Non-local graduates may apply to stay/return and work in the HKSAR under the IANG. Persons admitted under the IANG will normally be granted an initial stay of 12 months on time limitation only without other conditions of stay upon entry.

Internship Opportunities

MScIE provides support to corporate recruiters seeking to hire MScIE students for part-time internships. Full-time MScIE students may undertake internships that meet the following criteria:

  • Study/curriculum-related internship;
  • Not working for more than 20 hours per week; and
  • Internship duration is up to one-third of the normal duration of the programme.

Students must obtain prior approval before commencing any internship employment by submitting an Internship Approval Application.

Note: There are no restrictions on working hours or work location for employment undertaken during the summer period (1 June to 31 August).

Non-local Students

Non-local students who have been admitted should have received a “No Objection Letter” (NOL) from the HKSAR Immigration Department, along with their visas, prior to the start of their studies. Students who wish to take up employment should present such NOL to the programme office and potential employers.
